Jordan Steele
International Instructor - VI Degree

International Instructor Jordan Steele started Taekwon-do in 1997 at just 5 years of age. In 2005 he received his 1st degree black belt and in 2013 took over management of Choong-Moo Taekwon-do Academy. Jordan has been coaching Choong-Moo's tournament team since 2013, leading the team in several local, national and world competitions. The team has won several awards. Jordan won gold for men's power breaking at the South Australian Championships in 2017. In 2022, Jordan travelled to Amsterdam, Netherlands to compete in the ITF World Championships. Jordan broke 5 boards with a punch and won bronze for Australia in men's team power breaking.

Jordan graded to sixth degree in November 2024 and is currently in training towards his seventh degree in 2030.

Patrick Steele
International Instructor - V Degree
International Instructor Patrick Steele began training with Rhee Taekwon-Do in the ACT in 1985, gaining his 1st degree black belt with the newly-formed National TKD school in 1988. After a few years break, he joined the ITF under Master Daher in 1993, began teaching Taekwon-Do for the first time and graded to 2nd degree with Hwa-Rang Taekwon-Do. In 2001, he established his own club in Dickson, moving to Gungahlin the following year and opening the Choong-Moo International Taekwon-Do Academy. He graded to 3rd degree under Mr Muleta in March 2003 and began Choong-Moo TKD operations in Amaroo in early 2004. He earnt his 4th degree black belt in August 2010 and was awarded International Instructor status in June 2012.
After returning to training following a seven-year hiatus, Patrick earnt his 5th degree black belt in November 2022.

Patrick is currently training towards his sixth degree in 2027.

Katrina Cubit
Senior Instructor/ International Umpire - IV Degree

Katrina started Taekwon-do in 1992. Katrina managed ITF Taekwon-do clubs in Northern Tasmania in Hadspen, Launceston, George Town and Lilydale. Katrina moved to Canberra in 2007 and joined Choong-Moo Taekwon-do Academy in 2017 with her two youngest daughters, both who are now first kup and first degree. Katrina has represented Choong-Moo and Australia in local, interstate and global tournaments winning a number of gold medals. Katrina is a coach for Choong-Moo's tournament team and holds an International Umpiring Certificate. Katrina has represented Australian as an Official Umpire at the 2021 World Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands and at the 2023 World Games in Seoul, South Korea.

Katrina was promoted to fourth degree in December 2022 and is currently training towards her fifth degree in 2027.

Grace Ellis
Senior Instructor - III Degree

Grace started training with Choong-Moo Taekwon-do Academy in 2010 at the age of 8. Grace has represented Choong-Moo and Australia in local, interstate and global tournaments winning a number of gold medals. In 2021, Grace was selected by United ITF Australia to join the Australian Team. In 2022, Grace travelled with the Australian Team to Amsterdam, Netherlands to compete in the ITF World Championships. In 2023, Grace travelled to Seoul, South Korea to compete in the 2023 World Games. Grace was promoted to third degree in December 2020 and is currently training towards her fourth degree in 2025.

Kirby Ellis
Senior Instructor - III Degree
Kirby started training with Choong-Moo Taekwon-do Academy in 2012 when he made a promise to his eldest daughter Grace, that he would join if she got her green belt. Grace received her green belt and Kirby got his white belt. Kirby soon fell in love with Taekwon-do and continued on to get his black belt in 2015. Kirby received his 3rd degree in 2023.

​Kirby has competed in many local, interstate and international tournaments, often winning medals in Power Breaking and Sparring. Kirby competed in the 2021 ITF World Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Kirby won Bronze for Australia in the Men's Team Power Breaking.

Uqasha Imran
Instructor - III Degree
Uqasha commenced her training in TKD at an early age of 10. As Uqasha comes from a family who values the outdoor activities, she quickly found herself progressing through the kups and achieving her first degree in 2016 at the age of 14. Uqasha further developed her skills through multiple in-house competitions to compete at her first Nationals in Adelaide in 2017, scoring multiple medal positions across the disciplines. While remaining a committed member of the club, she has taken pride in training young athletes and participating at numerous ACT and National competitions as well as a Global event. Uqasha's skills have also landed her a few referee appointments at these events. Uqasha's focus has been to constantly enhance her professional development at TKD where she progressed to second degree in 2018.

Jono Windsor
Instructor - III Degree
Jono joined Choong-Moo Taekwon-Do in 2023 after a 13-year hiatus.  Prior to this, Jono started training in the late 1990s with Somerset Lai Taekwon-do in Tasmania, then later joined ARC Taekwon-Do in Launceston, receiving his black belt in 2008.  After returning to Taekwon-Do in early 2023, Jono was promoted to second degree shortly after.  Outside of Taekwon-Do, Jono has competed regularly on the Australian distance-running circuit in several state and national championship events.  Jono also regularly competes in triathlons.

Jono is currently training towards his fourth degree in 2028.

Justin Keast
Instructor - III Degree
Justin started training with Choong-Moo Taekwon-do Academy with his then 4 year old child in 2017. Taekwon-do is a great past time for families to enjoy together and both Justin and his child regularly attend classes. Justin’s key motivations for training are to improve physical fitness and mental agility. Justin has represented the Academy at various state competitions and regularly coaches our junior and senior colour-belt students.

Justin received his 1st degree black belt in 2022 and his 3rd degree in 2025. Justin is currently training towards his forth degree in 2028.
